With Pentax Day & Night lenses, the chromatic aberration has been corrected from visible light to almost Infrared (950nm). The shift of the point of focus (focus shift) is therefore unrecognizable. The optical flicker and contrast reduction caused by infrared rays in sunlight is also eliminated. This means that a single lens is sufficient for both black and white and color cameras, but also for the special Day / Night cameras.

As the first component to perceive and transmit images, the lens is without a doubt the most critical part of any CCTV system.

By using additional lens elements, Pentax lenses deliver optically uniform quality images with very low optical aberration. The difference in optical performance becomes apparent in the edges of the image.
