Ethernet and PoE via two telephone wires

With the new Mx2wire system from MOBOTIX, an Ethernet network with PoE is established over two telephone wires up to a distance of 500 m. In this way, for example, an existing two-core analog telephone cable can be used to connect a 100-Mbit Ethernet device (such as a PC, WLAN, IP camera, IP telephone or IP door opener). The transfer rate is up to 30 Mbit / sec. At 500 m of bell wire, approximately 15 Mbit / sec. transferred net. An (identical) Mx2wire device is required at the beginning and end of the cable, which automatically configure itself as a transmitter or receiver.

Both Mx2wire modules are powered from one PoE network connection (PoE switch). The device connected to the Mx2wire is also powered up to 7 watts via PoE, because in addition to the network signal, the incoming PoE signal is also transmitted. Mx2wire is supplied in standard socket frames in various designs, but can also be used with the included decorative Mobotix socket.
