Milestone Edge Camera Channel is useful for a location with limited bandwidth and all images are stored on the server.

Differences between Cloud and Edge storage

Milestone Kite gives us 2 options, Cloud and Edge storage. With Cloud storage it is possible to store all camera images on an Online Cloud and to view them easily here, there is also a short time of storage on the Gateway for when the connection is lost, with Edge storage it is only possible to store the camera images on a server.

To use the Cloud storage, a 2TB Cloud storage Gateway and a stable internet connection are required.

To use the Edge storage, an 8TB Edge storage Gateweay is required and you do not need a stable internet connection for this.

With Cloud storage, there are also several options in image quality: 2MP, 4MP and 8MP/4K. There are also several add-ons available for the Cloud storage: Cloud Continuous, Cloud Analytics and Access Control.

With Edge-Storage only Access Control is available as an add-on.
