1/3-type CCD with DynaView technology

This feature improves the dynamic range by shooting the same image twice (the dark areas with the normal shutter speed and then the light areas with a high shutter speed) and combines this in one image using an advanced DSP.

Intelligent video analytics

Based on the Sony Distributed Processing Architecture (DEPA) platform, this efficient and intelligent processing method unites built-in functions such as Intelligent Motion Detection (IMD) and Intelligent Object Detection (IOD) and also rules of filters that determine which images should be recorded fo that there is a alarm must be triggered.

Selectable JPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264 compression

This multi-codec camera supports three compression formats: JPEG, the best choice for high-quality still images; MPEG-4, the format that efficiently transports clear, moving images over networks with limited bandwidth; and H.264, the alternative to networks with strongly limited bandwidth with 2x the efficience of MPEG-4. The camera can produce JPEG and MPEG-4 streams simultaneously.

Day / Night function for 24x7 operation

This function allows the camera to switch from day to night mode (color / monochrome) and vice versa, by switching the infrared filter on or off. An external sensor is used for this or by measuring the light of the camera. For optimum performance, even a supporting IR illuminator can be switched on and off.

Sony patented Lens mounting mechanism

This mechanism is part of the vari-focal lens, and makes it possible to position the lens in all directions. Unlike conventional cameras, only a single action is needed to adjust the pan and tilt angle. It provides a quick and easy adjustment of the viewing angle during installation.

Flexible and easy installation

3.6x Zoom, Auto-iris vari-focal lens

Equipped with a 3.6x zoom vari-focal lens, the camera can handle a wide range of viewing angles, from 100 ° (wide angle) to 27 ° (telephoto). This feature offers the flexibility for installation in a large number of different applications and locations.

Dynamic Frame Integration (DFI)

DFI technology reproduces clear images with both still and moving objects. It detects motion in an image and reproduces those areas with minimal blurring (areas with little to no movement are displayed with minimal serrated edges). It also uses the interlaced-scan CCD to produce clear images under moderate light conditions.

Intelligent Motion Detection (IMD) and Intelligent Object Detection (IOD)

IMD triggers many actions (e.g., image storage / transfer, activates external equipment) and reduces false alarms. IOD is useful for detecting suspicious objects, in public places (luggage left behind) or vehicles that have come to a standstill after an accident. With the IMD and IOD, intelligence has been expanded and refined when used with other DEPA-enabled products.
