AXIS Q6042-S is an advanced PTZ dome ready for outdoor use with an extensive D1 resolution, 36x optical zoom and fast and precise pan / tilt performance for a large area and large zoom details. It is ideal for city surveillance, airports, train stations, ports and stadiums.

Reliable operation

The camera is designed for easy and reliable installation, vandal-proof (IK10) and has shock detection, surge protection (rail standard) and protection against dust, rain and snow (IP66 and NEMA 4X). It can work at temperatures ranging from -40 ºC to 50 ºC (-40 ºF to 122 ºF). The Arctic temperature control of the camera ensures safe start-up in extreme cold. In windy conditions, the camera's electronic image stabilization provides clearer, more useful video and helps reduce the size of video files, leading to lower bandwidth and storage usage. The robust AXIS Q6042-S is designed for 24-hour pan / tilt / zoom operation. It can be automatically guided to 256 preset positions with the help of a surveillance tour. AXIS Q6042-S can tilt 20º above the horizon, allowing the camera to look higher than its mounting position. This can be useful, for example, in a stadium where the stands have to be looked at.

Intelligent video

Active Gatekeeper support allows the camera to automatically move to a preset position when motion is detected in a predefined area and track the detected object. The camera also has a significant capacity for intelligent third-party video applications based on the AXIS Camera Application Platform. AXIS Q6042-S has a built-in memory card slot for local storage of recordings. The camera is powered by High Power over Ethernet using the included High PoE midspan.
