Axis introduces the first pan / tilt / zoom dome camera with two lenses, enabling a 360-degree panoramic view in HDTV quality. In addition, the camera has an 18x zoom for detailed surveillance images. The AXIS P5544 PTZ Dome network camera is therefore very suitable for use in, for example, shopping centers, train stations, airports and logistics centers.

One-click view

The Axis P5544 has been developed based on Axis Panopsis technology. This creates a combination of a 360-degree overview camera with a wide-angle lens and a fast dome camera, including a 360-degree pan, 180-degree tilt, 18x zoom and HDTV 720p video. Thanks to the one-click view, a user can zoom in on a specific situation with a single click. Thanks to the two lenses, this is possible without loss of image quality. Moreover, the 16: 9 aspect ratio provides a wider image than usual.

The AXIS P5544 offers a 360 degree overview of 950 m2, approximately three tennis courts. Thanks to the pan, tilt and 18x zoom, people can be shown in detail at a distance of 150 meters, says Edwin Beerentemfel, business development manager Middle Europe at Axis. This camera retains high image quality in all circumstances and offers unprecedented remote monitoring options.

Versatile monitoring

The network camera has day and night functionality and a high dynamic range, so that objects are displayed well in both dark and lighter environments. The AXIS P5544 supports two-way audio and audio detection so that an alarm signal can be given in the event of unusual noises. In addition, external equipment can be connected, such as sensors for switching on lights or closing doors.

The PTZ dome camera offers protection against dust and splashing water, even in the case of fire sprinklers (IP51 rating). Thanks to High Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3at), installation is simple and one cable is sufficient to transport power, video and PTZ control. Thanks to an internal SD / SDHC memory card, recordings can be saved locally.

Specifications

The AXIS P5544 offers HDTV 720p image quality, or 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, progressive scan, HDTV color fastness, full frame rate and 16: 9 image format. Furthermore, the camera can simultaneously deliver different, individually configurable H.264 and Motion JPEG video streams. H.264 optimizes bandwidth and storage usage without reducing image quality.

Support for the AXIS Camera Application Platform makes it possible to install video analysis applications from Axis partners. The camera also supports AXIS Camera Station Video Management software and is suitable for applications that arise from the Axis Application Development Partner program.
