AXIS 207

The smallest entry-level MPEG-4 network camera - the AXIS 207 - is suitable for many indoor applications thanks to the rich features such as; built-in video motion detection (VMD), built-in microphone and, a progressive scan image sensor.

The image quality of the Axis 207 is comparable to a CCD sensor, and the camera has a better light sensitivity compared to the Axis 206. The progressive scan CMOS sensor of the Axis 207 delivers a better (non-interlaced) quality for images with movement compared to traditional CCTV cameras.

Due to its automatic switch to black and white infrared sensitive image, you can also use this camera at night in combination with an infrared radiator. However, the infrared spectrum for which the camera is sensitive is limited.

The Axis 207 is economical with network bandwidth thanks to the MPEG-4 image compression method with motion estimation. In addition, the camera has a built-in ActiveX media player that is compatible with QuickTime, Real Networks, Mplayer, PacketVideo and various media players for mobile phones. This makes it possible to view video images with sound virtually anywhere in the world, via the Internet or on the telephone! The camera supports both unicast (with up to 10 simultaneous users) and multicast (MPEG-4 only) so that a virtually endless number of users can receive video simultaneously.

The video motion detection feature of the camera can be used to prevent unnecessary or unwanted network traffic and also to generate an alarm. This alarm can be made available via the alarm output of the camera or notification via e-mail. The camera has an electronic image flip which allows it to be mounted on a ceiling or used as a desktop camera.
