Milestone XProtect Express+ expands to 100 cameras

The security needs of organizations are growing, and Milestone Systems is responding with a major update to its popular XProtect Express+ video management system (VMS). This change offers significantly more scalability but also brings new pricing and a fundamentally revised structure for maintenance agreements.

Capacity expansion: More room to grow

Previously, the 48-camera mark was a hard limit for Express+ users. As of August 24, 2026, this limit will be expanded to a maximum of 100 Device Licenses (DLs) deployed on a single server.

• Seamless scalability: This makes the system ideal for mid-sized businesses and schools that require more cameras, without the immediate need for a complex and costly migration to a heavier edition (such as XProtect Professional+).
• Technical requirement: Under the new structure, existing installations can expand seamlessly up to 100 devices, provided the system is running XProtect Express+ version 2019 R2 or newer.

Adjustment of licensing costs

To position this increased capacity and functionality within the entry-level model, Milestone is implementing a significant price increase for the Express+ line as of August 24, 2026.

• The MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) for both the Base License and the individual Device Licenses will increase by 30% to 47%.
• The costs for Milestone Care Plus and Care Premium for the Express+ line will increase in proportion to these new licensing rates.

What does this mean for you?

The new rules and rates will officially take effect on August 24, 2026. This offers you an important strategic advantage in the short term if you are currently planning to expand your camera network or renew your Milestone Care agreement.

If your purchase order is submitted by us and accepted by Milestone before August 24, 2026, the current, lower licensing rates and conditions will apply. Any previously approved discount percentages on quotes after this date will be honored, but they will be calculated based on the new, increased MSRPs.
